   improvements.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.

当前的IETF过程包括两种类型的RFC文档：标准路径文档和其他的RFC文档（例如：
有关情报的，实验的以及供参考的）[1].标准路径文档的目的很清楚，它将上升到官方Internet
标准的高度[2，3]。要发表有关情报的RFC文档不需要很正式的基础，只要能够符合RFC
编辑的审核即可。它不需要接受同行的审查，无论它是否处于IETF审查过程都没有任何的
意义[4]。

现在IETF没有其他的机制和手段来发布经过它审查的有关技术信息。这篇文章给出了
一个新的RFC子系列，被命名为“最新最好的实践”（BCPs）。
BCP的发布过程和那些被提名的标准路径文档相似。BCP文档提交给IESG来审核，使
用现有的审核过程，包括在IETF公告邮件列表中刊登“最后通知”（last call）。然而，一旦
被IESG通过，这个过程就结束了，文档被发布出来。在技术上，最终的文档被IETF承认，
但它不是也不能是官方的Internet标准。
BCP可能应用到的技术信息范例有“OSI NSAP Allocation" [5] 和 "OSPF Applicability 
Statement"[6]
